US food blogger Kiran, a busy mum of four, had been contributing to fellow bloggers’ content for several years, even co-authoring an eBook with one, before realising she needed her own space on the interwebz. So Easy Real Food was born, offering super nutritious, easy to prep go-to family meals. On this project, I partnered graphic designer Sarah Masci of Bracken House Branding in North Carolina who broke the mold by coming up with unusual but highly effective orange and green schema with an emphasis on hand-crafted brush stroke script.
My role was to interpret the branding and content wishlist into a friendly, contemporary website design that gave blogger Kiran plenty to scope to grow, perhaps offering an eShop for her new ebooks. I custom built new widget areas, a bespoke blog page, added her logo mid navigation, and created an effective recipe index for her to highlight recipes by theme and more. Kiran now has a highly flexible site to grow with her ambitions.
